On Tuesday the 25th October I got the opportunity to work with an amazing charity, Fashion Awareness Direct.
F.A.D is an amazing charity that works with young adults looking for an open door into the fashion industry and giving the young adults a chance to shine and show the world what they can do. I got to work with 10 young individuals who all showcased their beautiful creations at London Fashion Week on the runway, and I have never met such a lovely bunch of people.
The day started off quite early for me as travelling down to London in rush hour isn’t the best thing to do with a full kit for hair styling. I actually managed to get a seat on the train which was a first. We shot the entire day at Speos Studios based in Camberwell, near Denmark Hill Station.
As two of the girls had male models this meant I didn’t have the whole 10 models I was expecting. From topknots and braids to messy crimps and curls there were no rules when it came to creativity and using hair as a canvas. The photographers were brilliant and knew no boundaries. If anyone would like the opportunity to build up contacts or a portfolio these photographers and F.A.D charity are the people to ask!
